Home on the Range Cabin

The cabin and land where the song "Home on the Range" was written in Athol, Kansas, was owned in recent years by a family trust.  When faced with many challenges involved in the restoration and preservation of the cabin, they looked to The Peoples Heartland Foundation for a solution.

By establishing a donor advised fund with The Peoples Heartland Foundation, they were able to establish a plan and develop short and long-range goals for maintaining and improving the site for historical and educational purposes.

The Home on the Range Cabin continues to be a source of pride and inspiration for the mission and drive of The Peoples Heartland Foundation.
